Description
Derwydd Stable Cottage is a cottage that includes a stable and a small trap-shed, all facing west. There are additional sheds to the north that are attached to an enclosing wall, with walls surrounding the stable cottage yard and garden on the west side. The cottage, stable, and trap-shed are constructed from small rubble masonry, topped with local sandstone roofing slabs and a plain tile ridge. The cottage features a timber porch at the doorway, supported by plinths, with timber posts and boarding on the sides, all covered with similar roofing slabs. There is a modern window above and to the right of the door, likely set in original openings. A cobbled path leads to the front door.
The stable has a boarded door with two lights and a barred opening above. There is a hatch with boarded shutters and a segmental head leading to the loft above. The trap-shed has double boarded doors. Two masonry piers separate the open-fronted sheds to the north, which have modern sheet roofing. The walls enclosing the cottage and stable yard and garden are made of rubble masonry and stand about 2½ meters high.
