Description

The Monument to Amelia Earhart is a Grade II listed obelisk memorial made of reconstituted stone, standing on a square base with a stepped plinth. Each corner of the base features corbelled basins that hold lion fountain heads. On the side facing the road, there is a polished stone inscription tablet that provides details of Earhart's flight. The obelisk itself is adorned with a relief frieze at both the bottom and just below the top, and the front face displays a laurel wreath. At the top, the obelisk is crowned with a metal weathervane.
