Description
This is a section of the medieval town wall of Carmarthen, standing approximately 5 meters tall with some later repairs. It now serves as the rear garden wall for No 6 Quay Street and No 3 St Mary's Street. On the left end, there is an external flight of thirteen stone steps with a stone retaining wall that leads up to a garden door for No 6 Quay Street, featuring a 19th century or later red brick frame. The central section of the wall has been repaired following a collapse and is believed to conceal a tunnel beneath the garden of No 3 St Mary's Street. There is a straight joint before the taller eastern section, which connects to the yard wall of the former Red Cow public house at 28 Bridge Street. Both this section and the central section have small square openings located low down.
