Description
Sarnau Mansion is a house built in a mildly neo-classical style, featuring white painted roughcast and a slate pyramid roof. It has paired brackets at the eaves and a brick stack at the apex, with a tall brick stack on the right end. The front of the house is two-storey with three windows, each fitted with 16-pane sash windows. The central door is located in an open porch with a flat roof, supported by a pair of stucco columns on each side and two half-columns as responds. The cornice is broken forward over the outer columns, and the entrance features a six-panel door with a traceried overlight.
The left side of the house has three windows, with large arched recesses on the ground floor framing a 16-pane sash on each side and a blank window in the center. The plinth is broken forward for each pier. On the first floor, there are 16-pane sashes on each side and a blank window in the center.
There is a single-storey addition on the right side with a hipped roof, positioned behind a flat screen wall that includes a French window at the front. Additionally, there is a large 20th-century two-storey flat-roofed addition at the back, featuring small-paned sashes. The rear of the main block is constructed from whitewashed rubble stone and has four 12-pane sashes above, with two on the left, one in the center left, and one to the right of center. There is a ground floor French window located to the right of center, along with a 12-pane sash and a narrow window beneath the two left windows.
Inside, the entrance hall leads to principal rooms on the left side and a staircase to the rear right. The hall features six-panel doors to the left, right, and straight ahead, along with a moulded cornice. There is a panelled arch leading to the stair hall at the rear right.
