Description

The terrace wall in front of the Lord Nelson Hotel is likely from the late 19th century. It serves as a high retaining wall between Hamilton Terrace and the docks below. The wall is constructed from red rubble stone and features thirteen large arches, each with cut stone voussoirs and rubble stone facing the cliff within the arches.
