Description
Pontbren-ddu is a single-storey cottage that has been limewashed and features a corrugated asbestos-cement roof with a brick chimney on the left side. The windows are replaced 4-pane horned sashes that flank a central boarded door. To the left, or north side, there is a 1½-storey brick extension with a single 4-pane sash window. On the right, or south side, there is a lower outbuilding that was formerly open-sided, now with timber infill and a rubble-stone gable end. At the rear of the cottage, there is a 4-pane sash window, and to the right of this window, there is an outshut with a boarded door in the left end wall. The north extension also features a rear outshut. Originally, the cottage had a thatched roof, which was replaced in the 20th century by adding additional sawn trusses over the original trusses.
