Description
Swansea House, also known as Ty Abertawe, is a tall, narrow detached house built from stone, featuring a hipped close-eaved roof made of imitation slate. The house is three stories high and has a two-window range. In the center, there are large sash windows with marginal glazing bars on each floor. To the left, there is a 20th-century half-glazed door and a narrow plate glass sash window on the second floor. All openings are framed with a plain stucco eared surround.
The right end elevation shows some brickwork within the stone, likely remnants of previous chimney flues. Each of the first and ground floors has a single plate-glass sash window on the right, also with a similar stucco surround. The left end wall features 20th-century windows on the first and second floors, although it was originally windowless. The rear of the house, which faces Goodwick Hill, has an entrance on the first floor due to the height difference between the two roads. This entrance includes a 20th-century door with a flat hood, a small 20th-century light to the left, and two small 20th-century windows above. An old photograph indicates that there were originally two margin-glazed sashes above a three-bay opening, which may have served as a shop.
