Description
Rosslyn is a detached house featuring colourwashed weatherboard cladding and a corrugated roof, topped with a wooden finial at each end of the ridge and two brick ridge stacks. The house is two storeys high and has a four-window range on the road elevation, with the entry located at first floor level. Each outer bay has a four-pane sash window positioned just under the eaves, while there are semi-circular headed sash windows on either side of the central doorway. The entrance consists of a six-panelled door with a plain overlight, and the windows are framed with moulded architraves. The end gables are adorned with fretted bargeboards.
On the rear elevation, there are four four-pane sash windows with heads at eaves height, three of which are grouped at the left end and one at the far right. The ground floor features three similar windows that are more evenly spaced, with a doorway situated between the left and central windows. This doorway has a 20th-century door with a plain overlight, and all windows are also fitted with moulded architraves.
Inside, the house is said to have a mahogany staircase and cast-iron fireplaces that include mirrored and shelved overmantels, with the walls clad in bead-edged boarding.
