Description
Penrhyn is a substantial detached villa dating from the 19th century, featuring whitewashed stucco cladding and a slate roof with decorative fretted bargeboards and brick end stacks. The building is two-and-a-half storeys tall and has a two-window range. It includes two narrow stucco gabled dormers positioned on short lengths of parapet, each adorned with console scrolls on the sides. Each dormer contains a small four-pane sash window with a segmental-arched head on the upper sash.
On the first floor, there are two large three-light sash windows, arranged in a 2-4-2-pane configuration, each with a segmental-arched head for each light, and the entire window is also segmental-arched. The ground floor features two large canted bays, each with two six-two-pane sash windows that have distinctive ornamental frames with bead-moulding and chamfered upper corners. The bays have dentilated cornices and flat roofs.
The right gable end includes a small attic window, a large first-floor window, and a flat-roofed porch with an arched doorway that faces the front and is accessed by slate steps from the road. The porch has a 20th-century half-glazed door with a plain fanlight above it.
