Description
Elm House is a two-storey building with a symmetrical front elevation that features three windows, facing east towards the village street, and is set back behind a small front garden. The front is constructed of white-painted rubble, while the south side and the two-storey rear wing are rendered. The north gable and a single-storey rear outshut remain unrendered. The building has a slate roof with brick end-chimneys.
The front features twelve-pane sash windows with slightly cambered heads, with the upper windows being very slightly smaller than the lower ones. There is a plain central front door, which is topped with a hood supported on struts.
Inside, there is a central hallway that includes a dogleg staircase with a close string, square balusters, and a pine handrail that sweeps up to the landing newel, which is decorative. The doors are four-panel. In the left front room, which was formerly a kitchen, there is a small open fireplace, and there is a boarded rear door leading to an extension.
