Description
Penysgwarne is an early 19th century small country house that is rendered and features a hipped slate roof with rendered end stacks. The house has paired brackets supporting flat eaves. Its two-storey front has three windows, each fitted with 12-pane hornless sashes and slate sills, along with a central six-panel door topped by an elliptical-arched overlight. A painted timber porch with two columns, an entablature, and a cornice enhances the entrance; the columns have moulded bases and caps, while the responds are plain strips. The end walls are blank. At the rear, there is a hipped stair tower with a pointed stair-light in the east side wall, and an outshut to the left. The northwest rear wing is constructed of rubble stone and includes a stone stack at the north end and a ridge stack, along with a similar two-window range that has a blocked door at the ground floor center. The windows feature cambered brick heads and slate sills. Additionally, there is a low north end addition that includes a bellcote and outside steps on the west side leading to the loft.
