Description

Glanafon is a country house featuring unpainted stucco with a hipped slate roof that has deep eaves and two small 20th-century stacks positioned behind the ridge. The building stands two storeys tall with four bays, where the outer bays are slightly advanced. It has a raised plinth and a band, along with flat eaves. The windows are twelve-pane hornless sash types with slate sills. The entrance door is located in the second bay and is set within a columned porch that has two stucco columns and a pilaster strip. The timber cornice has been renewed, and the door is a 20th-century design with an overlight featuring narrow marginal panes.

On the west side, there is a three-bay arrangement similar to the front, but the central ground floor window has been infilled, likely originally a dummy window. The east end of the house has a large external chimney breast with a 20th-century brick stack. The rear of the house is simpler, with stucco lined to resemble ashlar, and also has a hipped roof. To the right, there is a one-window range with similar sashes, while the left side features a two-window range that extends to three storeys under the same roof. The attic has six-pane windows, while the other windows are twelve-pane, but the ground floor left window is blank. There is a back door with a 12-pane sash next to it, and slate steps lead down to a basement door located to the right of centre, along with a small window on the ground and first floors that was probably inserted.

The interior of the house is not available for inspection, but the windows are equipped with panelled shutters, some of which have been renewed.
