Description

163 Charles Street is part of an early 19th-century terrace that remains from a once uniform row of eight houses. The houses are roughcast with slate roofs, although No. 159 has concrete tiles and No. 157 features brick stacks. Each house is two stories high with two windows, featuring 12-pane sash windows above and 16-pane sash windows below, positioned to the left of an arched doorway that has a door with a radiating bar fanlight. All the houses have a low roughcast front wall topped with spearhead iron railings. Nos. 155 to 159 have stucco door hoods, while No. 161 has stucco surrounds for its door and windows. Nos. 155 and 161 have four-panel doors, while the others have 20th-century doors. No. 157 has 20th-century windows.
