Description

The Observatory is a 19th-century octagonal structure built from rubble stone. The upper part features a vaulted design with slits for telescope openings, although two segments of the vault have collapsed inward, leaving a top opening of approximately 8 feet in diameter. The inner vaulting is made of brick. The original ground floor includes an arched entryway with a cut stone arch and a circular interior that still shows remnants of the ceiling vaulting.

There are low single-storey outbuildings to the west, east, and north, also constructed from rubble stone. The building to the left has one door with plain stone voussoirs above it, while the one to the right features a short recessed section with an arched doorway and a blank arched panel in the main part. The rear of this section includes one arched window and a corresponding door in the recess. The northern rear wing has been altered.
