Description

The pigsties at Carnachenwen date from the 18th century and are constructed of whitewashed rubble stone with a corrugated iron roof. The building consists of a single long range with curved angles at the southeast and northeast corners of the enclosing wall, which faces the open yards to the north. There are two enclosed yards, each with low doors leading to the sties. The west end wall features two square windows and is elevated on a retaining wall. Additionally, there is a slate-lined feeding chute that leads to the enclosed yard in the east wall.
