Description

The churchyard boundary wall on the north side of the Pebbles is a Grade II listed structure. It is made of rubble stone and serves as a boundary between the roadway and the cathedral graveyard. The wall functions partly as a retaining wall, as the roadway is higher than the graveyard on the south side and lower on the west side. Within the churchyard, there are various 19th-century memorials attached to the north side of the wall, particularly from the 39 Steps westward. Notable memorials include those for the Wilcox family, dating to around 1850, the Rees family of Croeswdig, also from around 1850, and the Hughes family from approximately 1843.
