Description
The Coach House to the Deanery is a mid-19th century structure that served as a coach-house and stable. It is built from rubble stone and features unpainted modern cement render on the front, topped with a low pitched slate roof. The front wall facing the road is mostly blank, except for a broad segmental-arched coach entry on the right side, which has ledged double doors and ventilation slits. Above the left side of the door, there is a boarded loft opening under the eaves. The east gable end includes a tall door and window on the ground floor, along with a loft door above. The west end has one loft opening.
An 1840 Tithe Map indicates that a building existed on this site at that time, which included two additional sections to the east, and the entire area was marked as a coach-yard and garden.
