Description

This is an early to later 19th-century farmhouse constructed of rendered and roughcast rubble stone with slate roofs. The south front is divided into two sections, with the right-hand section appearing older, although the left section may represent a later 19th-century remodelling of earlier work. The older right section is slightly lower, has a grouted slate roof, a large rubble stone east chimney, two small six-pane upper windows, and one ground floor four-pane sash window. External steps on the east end lead to a loft door, and a rear outshut has a six-pane window at the east end, with a small loft light above. Two windows are visible on the rear wall. The left section of the south front has rendered end stacks and a slate roof, with four-pane sash windows on each floor to the left and a smaller two-pane sash window to the first floor right, above a door set within a rendered gabled porch. A rear northwest wing has a rear outshut, with the south end extended as a lean-to against the main house, featuring a ground floor window and a door below. The rear of the main house includes an outshut with a door in the angle with the rear wing, containing an earlier stair light within its space. The rear wing has a formal 19th-century east front, roughcast with raised cement dressings, featuring a two-window range of four-pane sash windows, a slate roof, and a north end stack. A small walled garden is located in the rear northeast angle, built with rubble stone walls with white rubble caps on the angle and gate piers. Inside, the east end features a large chimney with a heavy, blackened beam.
