Description
The Pier is a stone structure featuring a parapet on the seaward side and large granite coping stones on the harbour side. The seaward side is rough and irregular, showing various breaks in the masonry. There are steps leading down at the extreme left, followed by a section built on very large boulders, a projecting rounded bastion, and another stretch of irregular masonry. The pier-head extends northeast to the seaward side, constructed with 19th-century squared grey limestone masonry, featuring battered walls and curved corners. The inner face consists entirely of squared limestone with granite coping stones. There is a broad flight of steps inset towards the left end and a raised square platform at the seaward end, edged with granite. Three cast iron bollards, marked "David & Co Foundry Saundersfoot," and one former cannon are present. The parapet on the seaward side has rough stone coping, and a plaque indicates that it was rebuilt after a storm in 1896.
