Description
Y Garn is a mid-19th century farmhouse featuring unpainted roughcast over rubble stone and a grouted slate roof with roughcast end stacks, the larger one located to the left. The building has a two-storey, three-window front with 12-pane hornless sash windows, all equipped with slate sills. The central ledged door is accessed by four steps. The north end wall is made of rubble stone and includes a small 12-pane stair light. There is an outshut at the rear and an attached northeast outbuilding that also has a grouted slate roof and a door on the west end.
In the north wall of the rear garden, there is a sunk shelf with a slate lintel intended for bee-skeps. Inside, the farmhouse features sawn pine floor timbers and a small stair located to the right of the fireplace, which has an oak lintel.
