Description

The Manse, built around 1870-75, was likely constructed for J Griffiths, the first resident minister from 1873 to 1875. It is made of Green Middle Mill rubble and features a grouted slate roof with brick end stacks. The building has two storeys and a three-window elevation, showcasing 12-pane sash windows with painted brick cambered heads and slate sills. The central entrance consists of a three-panel door with a traceried overlight, flanked by raised cement side piers and topped with a shallow cemented hood. At the rear, there is a central pointed-arched stair light with stained glass margins, along with 12-pane sashes on both floors. A single-storey northwest rear wing includes a door and a boarded window.

Attached to the northern end of the manse is a pigsty, which has a front enclosing wall. In front of the house, there is a low rubble stone garden wall with square gate piers and a wooden gate. The Manse is prominently located, marking the northern end of the village group.
