Description

The horse trough at Coldwell Wood is a Grade II listed structure, carved from a single block of local limestone. It measures approximately 5 feet by 2 feet by 1 foot and features curved corners and a lip. The trough is set on a plinth made of limestone blocks and is built directly against the estate wall from 1800, sitting at ground level. A stone spout channels water from the Coldwell Spring through the wall into the trough, which overflows the lip into a drain located in the plinth.
