Description

This is a pair of cottages located at 34 and 35 The Village, Angle. They were built around 1905 as part of a planned village improvement scheme initiated by Colonel R W B Mirehouse, the local squire. This scheme also included the Globe Hotel. The cottages have flat roofs and rendered walls with a decorative cornice that matches that of the Globe Hotel. They feature open porches recessed on the front, supported by a timber column and topped with decorative cast-iron Gothic cresting. The principal rooms have windows arranged in groups of three, with two-pane sash windows between smaller single-pane sash windows. Other windows are single-pane sashes. The cottages have central and end chimneys.
