Description

The Globe Hotel is a three-storey building, with the upper two levels supported by a colonnade. It features a parapet and crenellations, and the brickwork is rendered. A decorative brick cornice consists of three courses, with the center course made up of a dentil course of bricks set diagonally. The hotel has two-pane sash windows. Colonel Mirehouse, who served in South Africa in 1900, is believed to have preferred a colonial style of architecture, which may explain the flat roof and sheltered pavement.
