Description
23 and 24 The Village in Angle are a pair of cottages that are part of a group improved around 1905 by Colonel R W B Mirehouse, the squire of Angle. This work was part of a broader village improvement initiative that included the Globe Hotel. The cottages are single storey with end chimneys, originally built in local rubble masonry but later enlarged in brickwork to two storeys and extended at the rear with a flat roof. The walls are rendered externally to hide the change in materials. At the front, there is a decorative cornice that resembles that on The Globe. Each cottage features a range of three two-pane sash windows.
