Description

34 and 35 The Village in Angle are a pair of cottages, part of a group that was improved around 1905 by Colonel R W B Mirehouse, the squire of Angle. These cottages are included in a systematic village enhancement that also involved the Globe Hotel. They feature a flat roof and rendered walls, with a decorative cornice at the front and sides that resembles that of The Globe. The cottages have open porches in a front recess supported by a timber column, topped with a decorative cast-iron Gothic cresting. The principal rooms have windows arranged in groups of three, consisting of two-pane sash windows flanked by single-pane sash windows. Other windows are single and have two-pane sashes. There are central and end chimneys.
