Description

This building is a pair of cottages, part of a group that was improved around 1905 by Colonel R W B Mirehouse, the squire of Angle. These cottages are included in a systematic village improvement that also involved the Globe Hotel. They are single-storey structures with end chimneys, originally built in local rubble masonry but later enlarged with brickwork to two storeys. The cottages have been extended at the rear and feature a flat roof. The external walls are rendered to hide the change in building materials. A decorative cornice at the front resembles that of The Globe. Cottage number 17 has a range of three two-pane sash windows, while number 18 has two windows, although the windows of number 18 have been altered.
