Description

This building is a cottage that is part of a group improved around 1905 by Colonel R W B Mirehouse, the squire of Angle, as part of a village enhancement that included the Globe Hotel. It is a single-storey cottage with an end chimney, originally built from local rubble masonry but later enlarged with brickwork to two storeys and extended at the rear, featuring a flat roof. The exterior walls are rendered to hide the change in materials. There are end chimneys and a decorative cornice at the front that resembles the one on the Globe Hotel. The cottage has three two-pane sash windows. Additionally, brickwork wings at either end of the front elevation suggest that similar improvements were planned for cottages 11 and 14, which remain single-storey.
