Description

23 and 24 The Village in Angle are a pair of cottages, part of a group that was improved around 1905 by Colonel R W B Mirehouse, the squire of Angle. This improvement was part of a systematic effort to enhance the village, which included the Globe Hotel. The cottages are single storey with end chimneys and constructed from local rubble masonry, but they have been enlarged in brickwork to two storeys and extended at the rear with a flat roof. The exterior walls have been rendered to hide the change in materials. A decorative cornice at the front of the cottages is similar to that found on The Globe. Each cottage features a range of three two-pane sash windows.
