Description
Y Fagwr is a villa built around 1830-1840, constructed from rubble stone and featuring a low-pitched slate hipped roof with rendered end stacks. The building stands two storeys high and has a three-window range of large 12-pane sash windows, which have slate sills and rough stone voussoirs. The central entrance is a round-arched doorway, which is flanked by a later 19th-century painted timber porch. This porch is enclosed and sits on a double flight of stone steps, featuring angle columns, responds, a moulded cornice, and a flat roof. A basement window can be found in the flight of steps, while the northeast elevation showcases various sash windows.
At the front left corner of the villa, there is an attached rubble stone wall that once flanked the front drive. This wall includes square piers leading to a rear service yard and has a curving section beyond, divided by similar piers between lengths of wall that feature recessed panels.
Inside, the villa contains six-panel doors and an earlier 19th-century staircase.
