Description
The churchyard gates, piers, and railings are constructed from low chamfered ashlar and feature ornate iron railings. The railings include large cinquefoils set within a framework of rails and uprights, along with rosettes in the top rail, spear finials, and more elaborate Gothic stanchions. At the entrance to the churchyard by Barclays Bank and at the main northern entrance to the church, there are chamfered square gate piers made of ashlar. The main gate retains a pair of fine cast-iron lamp standards in the High Victorian Gothic style, featuring ring-shafted short columns that support turned pedestals for large lamps. The double gates have ironwork that matches the design of the railings. There is also a smaller pedestrian gate on Church Street, which has a single gate pier to the right.
