Description
The Hope and Anchor Public House is an inn that features a painted roughcast exterior with a slate close-eaved roof and end stacks. The street-facing side has three storeys and is double-fronted. On the second floor, there are two 12-pane sash windows. The first floor includes two canted oriel windows with moulded cornices and 4-12-4-pane glazing, where the center light is fixed. The ground floor has two broad windows from the 20th century on either side of a wide cemented opening, which has a door recessed to the right. There are cellar grilles on each side and loading doors on the right side.
The right end wall is roughcast and features a divide along the line of the gable chimney. The left side has a 12-pane loft light, while the right side is stepped forward and has a tiny loft light. There is a 20th-century extension attached at right angles. The ground floor has been altered.
