Description
The Cottages is a row of cottages dating from the late 20th century, featuring whitewashed roughcast exteriors and clay-tile roofs. The building has five chimneys, two of which are larger. It consists of two storeys with four two-window cottages numbered 1 to 4, and two double-fronted cottages to the east, numbered 5 and 6. The cottages have renewed 12-pane sash windows and modern doors. Cottages 1 to 4 are arranged as two mirrored pairs, with doors located in the inner bay. Notably, there is no first-floor right window in cottage number 3.
At the rear, cottages 1 to 4 have an outshut with four lead-clad dormers featuring pairs of casement windows. The rear garden wall is made of whitewashed rubble stone and includes five arched doors, with the arch-heads of the last two doors higher than the wall-head, all constructed with stone voussoirs. The sixth door has lost its arch. The wall-head has been raised with blockwork to support a plastic sheet roof. The property has not been inspected.
