Description
This is an outbuilding located to the south of Birdlip Farmhouse, constructed from whitewashed rubble stone and featuring a thatched roof, which is clad in corrugated iron. The building is one storey with a loft. There are 20th-century external steps at the north end leading to a plank door for the loft. The northwest corner is curved, while the west side has a boarded loft opening and a small opening to the right, both with timber lintels. The east side appears two-storey due to the slope of the ground, featuring a cart-shed on the right with a cambered timber lintel, a door, and a small window to the left. Above the cart entry, there is a square loft opening and another opening to the left.
The roof is supported by three trusses made of rough-hewn timber, each featuring two pegged collars and a wavy form. The underthatch is made of heather.
