Description
St Tyfriog's School is a building constructed from rubble with Bathstone dressings and features stepped buttresses at the corners. It has a steeply pitched slate roof with overhanging eaves. On the west gable, there is a tapering square weatherboarded turret topped with a pyramidal boarded roof and a weathervane, along with a small stone chimney stack located towards the east gable.
The south side of the building has three 3-light mullion windows, and to the right, there is a gabled porch that includes narrow side windows and a pointed doorway topped with a blank quatrefoil. The porch features a boarded door with decorative strapwork hinges. The west end has a three-light transomed window, which contains some upper stained glass panes and a relieving arch, along with a blind quatrefoil above and a boarded gable at the apex. The east end has two narrow windows and a rectangular plaque above that displays two carved heraldic shields. The north wall is blank.
