Penuwch Fawr

Penuwch Fawr is a smaller country house that has been converted into a farm. It is constructed from squared rubble stone and features slate hipped roofs with deep bracketed eaves. The building has stone end wall stacks and a rendered stack on the left rear wing. It is designed in a U-shape with two-storey elevations consisting of three windows on three sides, although the rear door is set far back in a narrow recess.

The north front showcases three large 12-pane horned sash windows above, flanking a central door that is now accompanied by broad former tripartite sashes replaced with uPVC. The stone voussoirs and slate sills complement a six-panel door with an overlight set in a panelled reveal. The entrance is framed by a fine timber doorcase featuring two Ionic columns and a heavy moulded cornice, accessed by three slate steps. There is a blocked basement window to the left.

The left end of the building is offset and has blank windows in the bay to the right, along with uPVC windows on the ground floor. The right end is roughcast and has three windows above, one of which is blank while the other two have been replaced with uPVC. In the rear centre recess, there is a six-panel door with a pair of casement windows above. The property was not inspected at the time of the survey.
