Description

13 Victoria Street is a two-storey building dating from the 18th century, originally comprising a row of shops and dwellings. The front has a simple classical design with three windows on each section, except for the two-window sections at numbers 10 and 11. The roof is hipped, with projecting pavilions at each end – numbers 10, 11, and 19. The fronts of numbers 12 to 15 are roughcast, numbers 16 to 19 have a scribed render finish, and number 19 is rusticated. The building features pilaster strips and rusticated quoins, and number 14 has a plinth and an eaves band. The slate roof steps up from numbers 15 to 18 and has ridge cresting on number 19. There are wide boarded eaves, ten brick, rubble and cement render chimney stacks. Most windows are 12-pane sashes with decorative architraves and keystones, and the entrances share a similar design with recessed panelled doors and a bracketed hood over the entrance to number 15. The right side of number 19 is finished with scribed render and includes a later lean-to addition. Extensions to the rear are not considered to have any special architectural interest.
