Description

1-5 Cambridge Terrace is a terrace of five houses built in the Domestic Revival style. The ground floor is constructed of red brick, while the upper floors feature yellow brick with red brick dressings. The roofs are slate, complemented by moulded brick ridge stacks. The buildings have terracotta dressings at the eaves, gables, and upper windows, along with large pane horned sash windows. The terrace consists of two storeys with attic gables and dormers.

The design includes two mirrored pairs of two bays, with a single matching building on the left (No. 1). Each pair has a central entrance bay and an advanced Dutch gabled bay on the side, which features a bay window on both the ground and first floors, adorned with a tiled apron and brick plinth. Above the bay window is a flat wide canopy with a decorative iron balustrade, although this balustrade is missing from Nos 2 and 5. The Dutch gable has a three-light window, along with terracotta kneelers, coping, and an elaborate finial. The entrance bay contains a single first-floor window with a moulded terracotta hood, plain dormers with pitched slate roofs and finials above, and a double six-panel door below with a plain overlight and a shared tiled canopy on a timber bracket with balustrading. The front also features a brick wall with iron railings and a gate.

The rear elevations are all in red brick and include three-storey extensions with gabled slate roofs, ridge stacks, and horned sash windows. There are two small modern windows in the side elevation of No. 1. The front and rear garden walls are made of red brick, with iron railings and a gate at the front.

The interior has not been inspected.
