Description
Edleston House is a detached building designed in a Colonial style, dating from the 19th century. It features a symmetrical two-storey façade with three windows, finished in scribed cement render and a channelled ground floor. The steep hipped slate roof has wide swept boarded eaves and is topped with tall cement rendered brick chimney stacks. The front includes tall cross frame French windows and a central entrance with panelled double doors.
A notable feature of Edleston House is the full height cast-iron verandah from Coalbrookdale, which showcases decorative elements such as finials, traceried spandrels, fluted columns on the first floor, and foliage capitals. The side elevations also have a three-window arrangement, with a four-window layout on the first floor, displaying similar detailing. There is a one-storey extension set back to the right and a modern extension at the rear.
Inside, the building retains moulded plaster corbels supporting the arch at the end of the entrance hall.
