Description

The dovecote at Nanteos is a circular pigeon roost tower constructed from coursed rubble. It was originally topped with a domed slate roof that has since collapsed. The structure stands two storeys high and features an opening to the east, which was formerly a door, framed by brick voussoirs with a flat head. Above this, there is a flat-headed opening that likely had a brick head, although this has been lost. Inside, the dovecote is lined with brick and includes bands of square dove-holes positioned above projecting shelves, which are also made of red brick.
