Castell-du

Castell-du is a two-storey building constructed from whitewashed roughcast rubble stone, topped with slate hipped roofs and featuring roughcast end stacks. The front range has three windows and deep flat eaves, with 12-pane hornless sash windows set on stone sills. The central door, which is from the 20th century, includes an overlight, and there are signs of a porch that has been removed. The west wall is windowless.

To the northeast, there is a large whitewashed rear wing that has a massive external stack on the north end, which is stepped back three times on the right and stepped out once on the left. The ground floor of this wing features a 12-pane sash window on the left and a 20th-century window on the right. The west side has a six-panel door in a lean-to porch at the right angle, with a 20th-century window on each floor to the left. The east side includes a stair-light on the left and a 12-pane sash window on each floor to the right.

Inside, the main southeast and southwest rooms have six-panel doors and shutters. The center hall features a fanlight above the north end door, leading to a stair hall that is set off to the right in the rear wing. The dog-leg stair has stick balusters, turned newels, and a ramped rail. The fireplace in the rear wing is said to have a large covered beam.
