Description
The L-Plan Range at Hindwell Farm consists of two main structures located in the farmyard, approximately 50 meters to the east of the farmhouse. The first is a barn from the 18th century, featuring eight bays and two threshing bays. It has a rubble plinth, walls made of stud and weatherboarding, and a slate roof. Inside, it includes some queen post trusses and other tie-beam trusses with raking struts. This barn is partly concealed by a later byre range within the yard.
The second structure is an L-plan range situated close to the northeast of the farmhouse. This includes an earlier 19th-century stable and granary block, which has rubble walls and a hipped slate roof on the south side. It is connected to a late 19th-century five-bay cartshed that has a loft, featuring rockfaced rubble at the gable end, weather-boarded loft, and a slate roof. Stone steps lead up to a boarded door. Additionally, there is a two-storey late 19th-century cowhouse range that projects to the east, made of rockfaced rubble with a weather-boarded loft and slate roof, containing seven boarded doors with brick-dressed openings.
These two ranges of farm buildings are grouped together with the farmhouse.
