Description
Porches is a building made of coursed stone rubble and topped with a slate roof. It stands two storeys tall and has five bays.
The structure features two steeply gabled front porches, each with a two-centered open outer arch. The northern porch provides access to the entrance doors of Nos 7 and 8, which are set at an angle. The doors are framed with cover beads on the boards. Inside the porch, there is a plaster vaulted ceiling. The southern end, No 6, has a 20th-century external door, and the porch overlaps the end of the building, indicating that a further cottage may have been planned to share the external stack, which is now occupied by a single-storey extension. There are two timber Gothic windows, each with a single horizontally barred metal casement. Additionally, there is a 20th-century extension at the rear of No 8, known as Porch House.
