Description
The Porches is a two-storey building constructed from coursed stone rubble and topped with a slate roof. It features five bays and two steeply gabled front porches. Each porch has a two-centred open outer arch; the northern porch provides access to the entrance doors of Nos 7 and 8, which are set on a cant and framed with cover beads on the boards. Inside the porch, there is a plaster vault ceiling. At the southern end, No 6 has a 20th-century external door, and the porch overlaps the end of the building, indicating that a further cottage was likely intended to share the external stack, which is now replaced by a single-storey extension. The building includes two-light timber Gothic windows, each fitted with a single horizontally barred metal casement. Additionally, there is a 20th-century extension at the rear of No 8, known as Porch House.
