Description

This is a late 18th century turnpike milestone located opposite Little Eames. It is made of sandstone and features a finely rubbed face that ends in two arcs below a rounded top. The incised lettering on the milestone reads "HAY / 6 / BUILTH / 13," with the last number having been changed from the incorrect 11. This milestone is included as a monument to the turnpike era of road transport.
