Description
Dol-aethnen is a two-storey building with an attic, constructed of ashlar stone and topped with a slate roof. It features three bays, consisting of two forward gabled wings that have a plat band. Each wing is adorned with 30-pane sash windows on the ground floor, 20-pane sash windows on the first floor, and a radial window at the attic level. The building has deep eaves and bargeboards. Between the wings is a narrower recessed bay that contains a pair of part-glazed doors on the ground floor and 16-pane sash windows on the first floor, all of which are topped with stone lintels. The roof has symmetrical stacks made of local red brick located on the rear slope. The left wing extends to the rear and includes an attached lower two-storey service wing, which has a dormered attic on its western side. The rear of the building is painted and features an added glazed porch over the main entrance at the back of the main range. The property was not accessible during the inspection in May 1996.
