Description
Carmel Independent Chapel is an early 19th-century chapel constructed of painted rubble with a slate roof and a finial on the left side. The building is two stories high and features a four-window front. The central pair of windows consists of 12 panes, with the upper panes designed to resemble Gothic arches. Above these, there are square four-pane windows with cusped glazing in the upper panes. Below the windows are camber-headed doorways that have boarded doors.
The interior of the chapel is well-preserved and retains its early 19th-century character. A pulpit and set fawr enclosure are positioned centrally against the front wall, with steps that have turned balusters leading up to it. The gallery encircles three sides of the chapel, supported by wooden posts, and features a panelled wooden frontal and a clock. There are steps located in the rear left corner, and the seating consists of wooden benches.
