Description
Moity Chapel is a 19th-century building constructed in 1846 for the Primitive Methodists. It features rubble stonework and a hipped slate roof. The south side, which faces the road, has a central door that is boarded with cover strips and set in a heavy frame. On either side of the door are four-centred arched openings that contain paned casement windows, which have heads with intersecting glazing bars and boarded shutters. There is a similar window at the east end, positioned higher up. Above the door is a plaque that reads 'Built for the use of the PRIMITIVE METHODISTS, AD 1846'. The west end has three square 20th-century windows, and there are two off-centre glazed doors at the rear. The chapel has been converted into a domestic space, featuring a mezzanine floor at the west with a kitchen and bathroom on the ground floor.
