Description
Maesgwyn is a two-storey house built from local brown shaley stone, facing north towards Church Street. It has a later lean-to and a small yard at the rear. The front of the house has been significantly reconstructed using similar materials and now features a three-window range, with brick arches and double-course sills on the front window openings. The roof is restored slate with a tile ridge and red-brick end chimneys, and there is a central semi-glazed door set within a lightly constructed open-fronted porch. The front windows have single-paned sashes with margin panes on the sides.
The rear and gable ends of the house are painted white. At the rear, there are two small 18th century or early 19th century windows located against the eaves, featuring small-pane glazing and wrought-iron stays. A similar small-pane window is found at the ground storey on the side elevation facing the street.
