1 Springfield including Glanmiheli with garden yard and walls

1 Springfield, including Glanmiheli, is a symmetrical terrace of six 2-storey dwellings built with Flemish bond brickwork and rock-faced quoins, topped with a slate roof. The buildings feature heavy stone lintels and sills at the openings, stone kneelers, coped gables with finials, and brick stacks. The end houses are designed in 'L' and 'T' plans, with wings that extend forward to enclose the four intermediate cottages, each consisting of two bays with a lateral stair hall and front and back rooms. The doors are boarded with applied moulded strips and plain overlights, although two doors have been replaced. The windows are 16-pane sashes, and the end houses have similar windows and boarded doors.

Each house has a front garden enclosed by brick walls, which are generally 10 courses high and rounded at the entrance gate. The end houses have higher garden walls, measuring 14½ courses, with well-rounded corners. At the rear, some of the houses have been painted, and No. 4 has a 2-storey extension from the 20th century. Behind the houses, there are service yards enclosed by a continuously coped brick wall, with openings leading to the service road. The yards contain brick outhouses that are set on and parallel with the wall.
